NOSARA COSTA RICA
Picture a place where there are beaches that meet the jungle, waves perfect for surfing, monkeys swing on the tree branches, birds screeching overhead, and the absence of a huge crowd of people. You think Eden was long gone. Not quite.
Nosara Costa Rica, a place on the Pacific Coast of this Central American country, is a paradise in its own right. It is mighty proud of the fact that it has three of the best beaches in the Nicoya Peninsula. The waters are gently warmed by the sun, making it very ideal for swimming and other water activities.
The lush vegetation, rich tropical forests, splendid mountains, and magnificent waterfalls in Nosara Costa Rica are under the protection of the country’s government. These natural wonders are being guarded against deforestation and other destructive developmental projects.
Nosara Costa Rica may sound like Tarzan’s kind of place. But residents do know how to have a good time. The most exciting bar in the village, Bambu, offers live marimba on Saturdays. Bars and other establishments also provide entertainment like disco, live music and tango, and game competitions. Open-air movies on Fridays are offered by Café de Paris as well.
As with howler monkeys, birds, anteaters, and skunks, iguanas can be seen practically anywhere in Nosara Costa Rica. Dogs are “man’s best friend” indeed. Probably every resident has one and taking them with you everywhere in town won’t be a problem. Snakes abound. But unless you’re really trekking deep into the jungle, you won’t come across one. Scorpions and spiders are also present in Nosara Costa Rica. But these are not the poisonous types that everyone is so worried about. But of course, that doesn’t mean their bites don’t hurt.
Paying in cash is always the best way in Nosara Costa Rica. Most establishments do not accept credit cards, and those who do, seem to have a thing for Visa. Traveler’s Checks are more advisable if you don’t want to bother yourself with cash. If you need to go to a bank, Nosara Costa Rica has one bank that is open from 9 am to 3 pm on weekdays. When paying, remember that a 10% tip is already added to your bill. However, if you are satisfied with the service, it would be a good thing to add additional tip knowing that their minimum wage is only $1.00 an hour.
Going to places like Nosara Costa Rica lets you get in touch with nature. It makes you appreciate life’s little wonders. From the animals that you probably never really gave much thought on, to the rainforest, rivers, mountains, and waterfalls that you never realized could be so breathtaking. Truly, Nosara Costa Rica is one place worth visiting.
